Acceptable Waste
Some examples of acceptable waste items are:
- General Household Waste (Garbage)
- Waste Wood*
- Appliances
- Mattresses and Box Springs
- Drywall
- Asphalt Shingles
- Balewrap
- Asbestos
- Impacted Soil
In addition to the above regular acceptable waste items, the Township Landfill will also accept the following at no charge:
- E-waste

These items are collected and diverted for recycling or repurposing to help reduce the amount of waste ending up in our landfill. These diversion practices serve to increase recycling and reuse of materials but it also helps extend the active life of the landfill.
*Please note, there is a distinction between clean wood and waste wood. Clean wood is defined as solid wood or lumber that contains no paint, stains, glues and/or chemical treatment – wood that does not meet the definition will be charged as waste wood per the current Fees and Charges By-law.
Landfill Expansion
