Roads & Bridges
The Township of Perth East strives to provide a safe and efficient means of travel on our road system. The Public Works Department is responsible for nearly 530km of roads, approximately 15kms of sidewalks, over 50 bridge structures and many large diameter culverts. The ongoing maintenance and patrolling of these assets are paramount duties of the department.
The Townships roads crew operate its routine road maintenance and capital projects out of two Public Works facilities. The south district operates out of the Line 40 yard, the north district crews operate out of the Line 61 yard.

Load Restrictions
During the spring thaw, some Township roads may become too soft and unstable to withstand the weight of a fully loaded truck, regardless of the axles. In an effort to reduce damage to the roads during spring thaw, from March 1 to April 30 each year, the Township restricts vehicles to half loads (5 tonnes per axle) on all roads in the Township. Please assist us in reducing repairs to our road system by not having heavy deliveries to your property during this time of year.
Parking Restrictions
To assist the roads crews in winter road maintenance, parking is restricted on Perth East Roads between 2am-8am, between November 1st and April 15th. For more information on the Parking By-Law in Perth East please visit the By-laws page
